ULLAPOOL WOODTURNING CENTRE.
Please help save our public toilets.
Corrieshalloch Gorge Toilets just off the A835 Inverness to Ullapool road.
This is the Corrieshalloch Gorge with the falls of Measach in the centre, this is one of the biggest deepest box canyons in Western Scotland, it痴 the second most visited site in Wester Ross, only Inverewe Gardens being more popular.
With visitor numbers averaging just over 75.000 per year, we feel that even the most basic of facilities should be provided and maintained.
There have been public toilets here for over 30 years, however this year our local
council have permanently closed these toilets as part of a money saving measure,
disregarding the popularity of the Gorge and the falls, we want to re-open these toilets, by signing our on line petition could get them opened again.
To support us please click on the link now to sign.
We are also suggesting to the council that this is not something for nothing, we are
willing to pay to use these toilets after they are re-opened, the method of which we would leave in their hands
This petition has been organized by:

Thank you, your support is appreciated.
Information update, we handed over the first part of our petition with 1226 signatures on it to The Highland Council痴 convener Sandy Park at a council forum meeting held in the Lochcarron Village Hall on Monday 21st June2010.
It was quite clear that they were unmoved by this as were all four of our councillors, indeed Jean Urquhart and Richard Greene are on record in stating that they would not be supporting re-opening the Gorge toilets, Jean went on to say 兎ven if the budget allows? clearly they, our four councillors are not taking any account of our massive support so far, the numbers dictate that they should be working for us and not going with their own or the council痴 agenda, where is the democracy?
To win this fight, we are going to need lots more signatures, making it impossible to ignore, so please sign now.
If you feel a personal letter to one or all of our four councillors is also called for, here are the names and e-mail addresses of all four, we are in ward six of the highland region.
